Diversity Ambassadors

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Gulf of Mexico Program, with support provided by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Coastal Services Center, established the Coastal Environmental Justice Community Ambassadors Initiative in early 2010. The Coastal Environmental Justice Community Ambassadors (Ambassadors) are charged with promoting an exchange of information between underserved and underrepresented communities and the Gulf of Mexico Alliance. The Ambassadors represent vulnerable communities across the Gulf of Mexico and are experts in community revitalization and sustainability.
