2017 Water Policy Summit
Coastal Resiliency
April 6-7, 2017
Tuscaloosa, Alabama
While the shoreline accounts for less than 10% of the land area, approximately 39% of the US population lives on or near it, and there is a growing trend of people migrating towards the coast. In addition to potentially impacting ecologically sensitive regions, coastal populations are also susceptible to storms and other hydro-meteorological extremes.
The second annual Water Policy Summit focuses on the science, adaptation resiliency and other societal and policy implications of our coastline in a changing climate. Learn more at waterpolicy.ua.edu.
Policy makers, conservationists, environmentalists, geologists, engineers, attorneys, water managers, soil and science leaders, state and federal agencies, pulp and paper executives, forestry professionals, natural resource managers, economic development leaders, city and state planners, lobbyists and anyone interested in the future of water will benefit from attending.
CLEs for Attorneys and Professional Continuing Education for Engineers and Geologists are available.
